Robert Hoops | Copywriting & Social Media

I'm a social media manager by day, and I've been writing copy, managing strategy, implementing campaigns, and designing social optimized graphics/videos for nonprofits and smaller organizations for years. Here's where you can see my work online:

I'm Park University's social media manager, and I'm an army of one. I introduced new brand guidelines and developed an instantly recognizable brand voice through copywriting and on-brand visual content. I engage with users, respond to messages, create visual content (graphic design, motion graphics, photography, and videos) and plan our content calendar. I spend most of my time on Facebook and Instagram, but hop on Twitter when Park needs some extra snark. I got Wendy's to tweet back at us once and my boss nearly had a heart attack over it.

Hey. That's big for a private university, ok? This tweet inspired me to devise an April Fool's Day prank on Park social and our website, becoming Bark University for a day. We meticulously recreated our social pages and website (a 2019 Webby Honoree) to become a college for dogs. At the end of the day we encouraged our followers to donate to KC Pet Project. It was a hit.

I also work within the brand guidelines of partners including the Kansas City Chiefs, The U.S. Military, The National World War I Museum and Memorial, and The National Archives among many others.

Currently I also write copy and create social content for RiverNorth KC's social media and website. My current main objective is to curate their Instagram and establish a brand voice. In the past, I've written and created content for SocialHeart, CancerviveKC, and S.D. Strong distilling.

You can check out my personal blog here. Most of my recent writing is on my private google docs, but as I lean toward a career in copywriting full time, I've been pulling from past pieces and creating original works. So, it's a little bare bones at the moment.
